My name is Lisa Elliott. I am a Physical Therapist by training,
a mother of four by choice and most recently an Independent
Consultant with Rodan + Fields Dermatologists. I would love to
share my story with you, and introduce you to our great line of
skincare products. As a business woman with over 20 years of experience in customer related industry, and now as a home based business entrepreneur, I would also like to share with you some business knowledge I have gained. Mentoring and helping others is very rewarding to me, and I hope to teach what I have learned. I think we should all be lifelong learners and tackle something new everyday, so buckle up and come along for the ride!

my story
I am a Physical Therapist by training. I have worked for all of
my adult life and until about three years ago, I had worked
fulltime in greater than 40 hour per week jobs. I of course was
paid for 40 hours, but it seems there were always days of
leaving late and going in early. I cut my hours when I became
pregnant with our middle child and then after she was born,
stopped working altogether to be a stay at home mom. I
admittedly was in heaven the first two years of not going into
work every morning, but then I began to miss the working world.
While being a stay at home mom is VERY rewarding and allows a
great bonding with your child, it does not involve much adult
interaction and it doesn’t help pay the bills. About the time I
was considering my return to work options, I became pregnant
with our youngest and knew the plan had changed. I needed
something to do from home that would allow me to be home with
the children but at the same time keep my “adult brain”
functioning and also help with some of our household expenses.
I looked into some home business options and couldn’t find a
good fit. I didn’t want to be required to book home parties and
shows in order to succeed. I couldn’t see myself with my trunk
full of products to load and unload 2x a week or more. I didn’t
want to deliver items to people and coordinate pick-up times. I
didn’t want to be selling something that everyone else was
selling. It was starting to sound harder and harder. On top of
all of that, I wasn’t even sure that I could sell anything in
the first place. Wasn’t I the person who had difficulty with the
school wrapping paper fundraiser for my child and just asked my
family to buy lots so we could be done with it???
Enter Rodan + Fields Dermatologists. A wife of my husband’s
co-worker was a consultant and she had sent me some information
to review. Here was something where I didn’t have to do any of
those things I was against doing. Also, there were very few
consultants selling products, and it was a product line created
by the well recognized doctors. Now those things really caught
my attention. I wanted more information and when she gave me
more, I got really excited. The more I learned about the history
of company, the products, and the compensation/bonus plan, the
more I knew I had finally found a good fit. Did I still worry
because I had never done sales? Absolutely. Was it a bit scary
stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new?
Definitely. Is building your own business a get rich quick
scheme and effortless? Not a chance. BUT, and a big but here, I
LOVE it. The reward of building something yourself and
accomplishing your goals is empowering. To actually love the
products you sell and see them make a difference for others is
energizing. To work with others in the company and on my team is
just plain fun.
